Website update announcement

Welcome back to my incredibly sporadic newsletter. I wanted to let you know I just completed a pretty major update of my website, hopefully making it much easier for you to explore my portfolio and stay up to date with current projects.

There's a lot of links to great stuff I've been involved with over the years, which you can filter to explore music or comedy projects. There's also a podcast page with a feed you can subscribe to, with trailers and links to some of my biggest shows. If you are newer to my work it's all pretty evergreen content so I hope you'll check out some of the shows from a few years ago.

Some personal favorites:

Podcasts

Little Bad Thing
hosted by Eleanor Gordon-Smith, a podcast about the choices we wish we could undo. Mix and sound design by Bryce Halliday, featuring music by Breakmaster Cylinder.

a freelance mixing project that kinda came out of the blue for me during covid but I've enjoyed coming back to since. It's just a damn good series of 8 radio stories from philosopher and This American Life contributor Eleanor Gordon Smith. I think Episode 6 'The Sincerest Form of Flattery' is my favorite, it's about a rivalry between two font designers โ€“ an art form it gave me a whole appreciation for.

Finding Drago
a cryptic line on Rocky IVโ€™s Wikipedia page leads comedians Alexei Toliopoulos and Cameron James down an internet rabbit hole of epic proportions with a burning question: Who is Todd Noy? Podcast produced by Bryce Halliday.

a comedy documentary I produced for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. It may be my magnum opus of podcasting? It's hard to explain but jump in at episode one and I'll meet you at the end of the journey.

Music

I've featured a few live performance recordings I'm proud of on the website. First, a video of me and one of my mentors Lisa McQueen performing a piano duet at a Halloween show last year:

The Great Pumpkin Waltz ft. Lisa McQueen
Performing Vince Guaraldiโ€™s timeless theme from โ€œItโ€™s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brownโ€ with the great Lisa McQueen at The Annoyance Theater in Chicago. October 2024.

And several years ago I released this live EP of highlights from my first few solo shows:

Bryce Halliday Live
recorded live at The Hayes Theatre in Sydney in 2016, an EP featuring highlights from the first three solo shows I ever wrote.

I'm working on a few fun things that will only be available to mailing list members like yourself, and some VERY special perks for paid subscribers. You can find out a bit more about that here. If you were supporting me on Ko-fi you now have a complimentary membership to the new system.

I'll be in touch in the coming weeks about I'm up to currently!
